Turquoise & Paua Shell Braclet of Intricate Design On Sterling Silver Net

A$625.00

This is a definite one off,  with silver hand worked around the individual shapes of the shells and then the whole braclet put together like a jigsaw puzzle.

The word 'turquoise' appeared to have come from the French for 'Turkish' as the stones reached Europe by way of Turkey after they left Persia (Iran). The Buddhists associate it with Buddha as he is said to have overcome a gruesome monster with the help of this stone. The Arabs call it a 'lucky Stone'.

Paua shell is a sea opal shell found in New Zealand. It is used in Maori carvings often as eyes. These eyes are considered as all seeing, like the stars or the eyes of an owl......a strong symbol of wisdom.
